Flexible Resin

Created with Fabric.js 4.6.0

Flexible resin products are suitable for curved walls where items need to flex around the curve. It is a suitable option for dado rails, skirtings and embellishments. Due to the weight of the flexible resin, it is not suitable for larger items such as wall panels and cornices. However, these products can be produced for curved walls by other methods (please refer to custom made section of our website for information regarding plaster curved products). Flexible resin is also heat resistant, impact resistant and waterproof.

Added options to flexible resin products include:

  • Pigments mixed through so that the product is coloured
  • Dust coasting of pigment to give shiny or metallic effect (similar effect to gold leafing)
  • UV treated options for external applications

Hard Plasters

Created with Fabric.js 4.6.0

Hard plasters are used in applications where clients want a higher quality, finely detailed product that is stronger than standard plaster. These plasters have scratch resistant surfaces and high water resistance. They are ideal for small products such as embellishments and dado rails because they are made solid with hard plaster. Larger products such as ceiling centres, ceiling panels, wall panels and cornices only have a 3mm face coat applied and the rest of the product is standard plaster. This is due to the weight of the hard plasters.

Hard plaster is also suitable for high traffic areas where chipping and/or dinting may be more susceptible, such as columns or feature wall panels. These products have a smooth finish like our standard plaster and are white in colour.

These plasters are not recommended for external applications.

Hard plasters include:

  • Hydrostone (hard plaster)
  • Ultracal 30 (hardest plaster)

Added options to our hard plaster products include:

  • Pigments mixed through so that the product is coloured
  • Steel framing wadded to the back for suspending

Polymer Plaster (Forton Modified Gypsum)

Created with Fabric.js 4.6.0

Polymer plasters such as Forton MG are suitable for both internal and external applications due to its high water permeability (for external use, the product must have a sealant applied or painted with an outdoor acrylic paint). Forton MG is a lightweight product that is very strong and water resistant. When casted, the products look and feel like acrylic but is still a plaster product. It is suitable for high traffic areas where chipping and/or dinting may be more susceptible. However, due to the high cost of this product, is it more so recommended only for small products such as embellishments.

Added options to the Forton MG products include:

  • Pigments mixed through so that the product is coloured
  • Metal powders mixed through to give the look of real metal
